| ALARNA |
Why not dance yourself into shape? If you find yourself tapping to the rhythm of music and feel a rush of heat when the samba drums start beating, you might just find you have a passion for Latin dancing.
Alarna has had that feeling in her blood since she began dancing at age seven. Her stellar rise in competitive dancing saw her and her dance partner become the reigning Australian Latin Dance Champions for several years remaining undefeated in Australia until their retirement from competitive dancing. Alarna and her dance partner won The World Cup in Japan, were British Latin Rising Star Champions as well as winning many international competitions around Europe and Asia.
Now, Alarna wants to inspire Australian children to each discover their inner dancer – truly believing that everyone deserves to feel the power, passion, fun and feeling that only dancing can give.
With Latin dancing’s quick-paced rhythms and playful movements, children will feel the hypnotic effect of the dance movements. Not only are the driving beats of the music enormously fun, but children will build up their aerobic stamina and develop good coordination and a sense of rhythm. Outside distractions will soon disappear as the Latin music washers over them. And just to add to an already breathtaking routine, the children will use black and red coloured capes to swing, stretch and create shapes in time with Alarna and their dance paces, creating a spectacle to behold.
The effects of Latin dancing are manifold; building fitness, flexibility and providing a sense of empowerment. It builds confidence and is highly interactive. For all body shapes and sizes, and all levels of ability, there are no limitations for anyone to immerse themselves in this Latin marvel.
Alarna takes her students through the paces with all the passion that has driven her throughout her dancing and teaching career. She fervently believes that once the music and rhythm infect children starting out, that it will stay with them forever. They will find themselves connected to their emotions and be able to spontaneously express them through the dance of Latin America and the freedom of movement.
